Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist
Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist is a rare designation, with fewer than 10 currently practicing in Ontario. Psychiatric pharmacists provide a service called comprehensive medication management (CMM), which involves a thorough assessment of a patient’s current and past medication history, lab results, clinical findings, and treatment goals. During CMM, they identify drug-related problems (DRPs) and resolve them in collaboration with psychiatrists, family physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team — all while working closely with the patient and their family.
